(Hilton Head Island, SC) – The Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival announced its first-ever Southern Belle Fashion Show and Luncheon taking place Friday November 3rd, 2006 at the Sea Pines Country Club. The event is open to the public, and tickets are on sale for $40.
Sponsored by Pink! Magazine, this event is a new addition to the 5th annual event. The fashion show will feature vintage fashions mixed with the latest trends in women’s apparel.
“Just as the original Concours d’Elegance in Paris celebrated the combination of fashion and automobiles, we are bringing back that element of couture to our event here on Hilton Head. We are looking forward to a great turn out for this event and anticipate it being a unique experience,” said Carolyn Vanagel, Executive Director for the Concours.
The show will display a combination of vintage pieces and new styles fashioned by Stein Mart. Local, Lowcountry celebrities will don the vintage clothing while a runway show will display the latest trends in female apparel. In attendance will be Patricia Mooradian, President of The Henry Ford and this year’s Honorary Chairperson.
The event will begin serving hors d’hoeuvres with sparkling water at noon followed by a luncheon of Southern cuisine at 12:30pm. The fashion show will begin shortly after lunch is served. Wine will be available for sale at the event.
In addition, raffle tickets will be sold for $5 a piece with the chance to win gift certificates from Panache, Sidney Pierson’s, The Back Door and Stein Mart, a watch (valued at $250) from Forsythe Jewelers, a rug from the Claire Murray Shoppe, Ann White pottery, artwork by Norma Hill Baker, the featured artist of the fashion show, including a framed Giclee print and two painted tiles, gift shop items from The Henry Ford, tickets to Saturday & Sunday’s Concours events and other specialty items. Stein Mart will also be selling hats to be worn to Sunday’s traditional Concours d’Elegance competition.
