Richmond, VA –-The Second Annual Motley’s Classic & Collector Car Auction to be held on April 17-18, 2008 is pleased to announce the consignment of two collector-grade coachbuilt Ford Model Ts long part of local collections. Both are brass-era cars with very significant original and AACA award-winning histories offered by their long-time owners to thin out extensive displays of historic vehicles.

The first, a 1914 Model T Screen Side Delivery Wagon, won its AACA Senior Badge in 1983 and has since been kept in correct climate controlled conditions for the majority of its restored life. Still excellent and complete cosmetically as well as mechanically, it is currently tour-ready or with very light detailing, ready once more to wow the show circuit. Painted green with exquisite gold detailing and the name of a liquor distributor on the side over black fenders, it retains all of its original gas lamp materials and carries its original matching-numbers engine that cranks to life with ease.

The second is the sole example of a 1915 Model T Town Car known to survive. The only year for brass and electric lights on the T, this unique coachbuilt Tin Lizzie was originally built for the Governor of Connecticut and used by that state for many years thereafter prior to local collector and retired NASCAR promoter Hugh Hawthorne’s acquisition and restoration in the early 1960s. The car was most recently extensively shown and used for the International Model T Club’s meeting and tour in Virginia in 1999 and it still shows and drives as it did then having been kept in proper storage since that time.

While these two Model Ts will impress all who see them, Motley’s has amassed a remarkable assortment of Antique, Classic, Sports & Exotic cars from the teens to the present day. Capping off the other end of the spectrum is a beautiful as-new 6-speed 2008 Corvette, a sumptuous 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL 600 and a remarkable red 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL 500. In the middle of the age rang a broad selection of four quality first-generation Camaros including a true RS and a fine SS 350 Convertible. From the Leith Collection, pre- and post-war Fords will be in evidence including a 1942 Deluxe Business Coupe and a 1956 Sunliner soft-top convertible. Even quality street rods and customs are on offer, from two exceptional 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air Deluxes with modern powertrains to a very unusual 1935 Buick Series 67 with 425ci Nailhead power offered for sale for the first time since its build in the mid 1980s.

All of these vehicles and all on offer will be on site at the Richmond Auto Auction at 3800 Deepwater Terminal Rd, Richmond, VA 23234 for the Preview on Thursday, April 17th, 2008.
