In a bold move, The 2007 Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance is planning to feature, for the first time ever, a selection of historic motorcycles at the world recognized gathering of classic and exotic vehicles. Dubbed Forty Fours, the gathering of motorcycles on the Concours field will focus on the prewar era. Organizers are assembling the largest gathering of four cylinder motorcycles ever presented and are currently inviting submissions to be included in the exclusive circle of forty.

The Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance, one of the most prestigious classic car shows in the world, will take place Sunday August 5, 2007, featuring some 250 of the most exotic and valuable vintage automobiles in the world. The event takes place on the lush grounds of the auto baron mansion, Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan. The entire week leading up the Meadow Brook Concours will be dedicated to events celebrating the automobile with the theme, “The Art That Moves Us – A Celebration of the Power and Beauty of the Automobile.”

According to Concours organizer Leslie Driest of Classic & Exotic Service, Inc. the interest in collecting vintage motorcycles has been building over the last ten years, is gaining momentum and rapidly gaining value in the marketplace.

“No Concours has ever been so ambitious as to create such a large gathering of these fascinating historic motorcycles and we believe it will be a significant event in the collecting world. The motorcycles will come from across America and the world with names that will cause excitement including Henderson, FN, Pierce, Cleveland, Ace, Indian and Ariel Square 4, “ she said.

The motorcycles in this special selection will range in value to the hundreds of thousands of dollars and span years from 1904 to the 1970s said Driest. “These are definitely not the kind of motorcycles you see out on the street, “ she said. “This is the start of a new tradition at Meadow Brook. With this great start we are committed to going forward and making this a spectacular feature at every Meadow Brook Concours to come.”
