G. Potter King’s Four-Day Collector Car Auction Puts Hot Rods Centerstage
And Concludes with Chip Foose Autograph Session – February 27, 2005
ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (December 1, 2004) – Chip Foose, the creative genius behind Foose Design and a legend in the hot rod community, joins the Atlantic City Collector Car Event’s first annual “Hot Rod Sunday” for a special autograph session on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Foose, who is also the current star of the TLC’s popular hit show Overhaulin’ where he and his staff conceptualize and redesign vehicles for unsuspecting owners, will meet and greet his fans at the Foose Design booth on the final day of the four-day auction event between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
To accommodate the growing popularity and skyrocketing prices of the “hot rod” genre, G. Potter King, Inc. is transforming the last day of its Atlantic City Collector Car Event, which features more than 1,000 classic and collectible cars under one roof and is the largest indoor event of its kind in America, to focus squarely on these hot collectibles.
“There are few people in the hot rod industry with credentials that can rival those of Chip Foose,” says Jay Silberman of G. Potter King. “His custom vehicle designs have won every major honor, including two prestigious Ridler Awards at Detroit’s Autorama, and six ‘America’s Most Beautiful Roadster’ awards. We couldn’t have a better ambassador to kick-off our inaugural Hot Rod Sunday.”
In addition to the new Hot Rod Sunday concept, the Atlantic City Collectible Car Event will also expand its newest exhibition area, Hot Rod Alley, and add a totally new twist, a judged showing to present “Best of Show” to the tune of $1,000.00 cash first prize. All entrants will also receive a gift package between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the offering for sale of hot rods only to begin at 12:00 p.m. and run through 5:00 p.m.
Entrance fee for “Hot Rod Alley” showcase and judging is $300.00 for the entire four days of exhibiting, and the fee will include an opportunity to offer the car for sale during the “Hot Rod” only Sunday auction at a greatly reduced seller’s fee of only 6 percent. On Hot Rod Sunday, gates open to the public at 9:00 a.m.
The Atlantic City Classic Car Event and the “Classics at the Borgata” are owned and operated by G. Potter King, Inc.
