PORTLAND, OR – The Ron Tonkin Family of Dealerships has acquired two new franchises to bring some of the most sought-after exotic and specialty cars to the Portland area. The 2005 Lotus Elise will be offered along with high-performance motorcycles at Motocorsa in Portland, and the rare, custom-built Saleen S7 is now available at Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo.

“We are excited to bring these world-class performance vehicles to auto enthusiasts here,” Ron Tonkin said. “The Saleen represents the finest in hand-crafted exotic cars, and the Lotus is the ultimate performance production car – these are the best vehicles available in each category.”

2005 Lotus Elise
The 2005 Lotus Elise is the best performing, best handling production car available at any price, and the Elise costs under $50,000. The Elise weighs less than 2,000 pounds, with a chassis of only 150 pounds, yet still features a 190-horsepower engine. Thrill-seeking drivers will appreciate that the car pulls 1.2Gs in a corner.

With the introduction of the Lotus Elise, Motorcorsa will offer both high-performance motorcycles and high-performance cars – a selection not found anywhere else in North America.

“The Elise fits in perfectly at Motocorsa,” said Arun Sharma, Motocorsa’s general manager. “We’re looking forward to introducing our motorcycle clients to the world of high-performance cars.”

Motocorsa is located at 9008 SW Canyon Road in Portland, (503) 292-7488.

Saleen S7 Limited Edition
For the serious auto enthusiast, the ultimate American-made, super-exotic racer comes in a sleek silver package: the Saleen S7 supercar, now available at Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo in Portland. This limited production vehicle is the most recent model to be hand-made by renowned racer Steve Saleen at the company’s headquarters in Irvine, Calif. The model is designated No. 45 – the 45th S7 ever manufactured.

The Saleen S7’s unmistakable profile rolled across the big screen in “Bruce Almighty” and “2 Fast 2 Furious.” Faster than the Ferrari Enzo and featuring an all carbon-fiber body, the Saleen S7 rockets its driver from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds. The car’s top speed is more than 200 miles per hour.

“Saleen owners are looking for the racecar driving experience,” said Art Smith, the dealership’s general manager. “It’s the combination of amenities and the finest racing technology that makes the S7 totally unique among exotic vehicles.”

Inside the Saleen S7, the driver and passenger tuck into race-style seats and enjoy a built-in DVD system, rear camera and all the amenities of a luxury exotic coupe. Safety features include an integrated roll bar and aluminum honeycomb panel crunch zones.
