50,000 gearheads will descend on the annual Carlisle mega-event, happening Wednesday, April 27 through Sunday, May 1. Auctions America by RM has been tapped to handle the auction portion, and among the prime consignments are a huge number of Corvettes.

Featured lots include a 1964 327/375 Fuelie convertible with a 4-speed, power brakes, power windows, and woodgrain wheel and a 1965 327/375 Fuelie coupe in Nassau blue with blue upholstery and original knockoffs.

Carlisle is such a significant event to Corvette culture that GM has announced an official paint color to honor the relationship. “Carlisle Blue” is one of two new colors that will be available for the 2012 model year.

Saturday afternoon at 1pm, attendees will have the chance to visit with Carlisle co-founder Bill Miller and 25-year company veteran Diane Vaughn at the annual “fireside chat.” If you’ve ever wondered about Carlisle’s roots or plans for the future, this is the perfect opportunity to get all your questions answered.
