BLENHEIM, Ontario – May 7, 2010 – Continuing its busy summer calendar of events, RM Auctions, the world’s largest auction house for quality automobiles, will head to Rochester, Michigan July 24th for its 16th annual Vintage Motor Cars of Meadow Brook event. Held on the grounds of America’s famous Meadow Brook Hall estate, the annual auction is presented in conjunction with the Concours d’Elegance of America at Meadow Brook to make for an ultimate, relaxed vintage car weekend for motoring enthusiasts.

This year’s auction has attracted strong early interest from consignors, with a magnificent roster of quality automobiles slated for the auction block. Connecting to Michigan’s rich automotive history, notable entries for the sale include the earliest surviving Ford in existence today, a 1903 Ford Model A Rear Entrance Tonneau, and a rare 1953 Chrysler GS-1 Thomas Special, a unique concept car commissioned by Chrysler and built by Virgil Exner for the auto show circuit. Additional highlights include a variety of important investment-quality cars, including a pair of majestic Model J Duesenbergs – a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Sedan with coachwork by Murphy, and a 1932 Duesenberg Model J Torpedo Berline Rollston; a handsome 1931 Chrysler CG Imperial Roadster Convertible, considered one of the best driving and finest open cars of the period; and an elegant 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Henley Roadster.
