CSX 2582 is estimated to bring from $475k–$625k
Hurry, there are only two days left to register to bid for The Worldwide Group’s Houston Classic Auction at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook Texas.

Scheduled for this Saturday May 5th, this auction will feature several marque cars including the hearse that carried President John F. Kennedy – car details, a 1913 Marmon ordered by founder Howard Marmon for his personal use as the only 70 horsepower car built – car details, and a 1910 Pullman that has spent its entire life in Texas – car details.

Two very special guests will be at this years auction; Sir Stirling Moss and Carroll Shelby, two of the most legendary race drivers in history. Both will introduce cars that are not only historically significant, but have powerful personal ties to each of them as well.

The first of these highlighted cars is a 1965/6 Shelby GT 350 converted to R specifications – car details. This car was owned and raced by Sir Stirling Moss and was his personal favorite. Included with the car is the original FIA paperwork in Moss’s name and signed by him as well.

Sir Stirling Moss will be on hand at the auction to introduce and discuss this historic race car and talk the provenance and his use of and history with the car.

Another extraordinary Shelby will be offered this Saturday as well. It is a 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe CSX 2582 – car details. One of only five continuation cars built on a genuine Shelby chassis, the car was ordered built by Shelby himself. CSX 2582 is a genuine McClusky built car and is recognized by the Shelby American Auto Club (SAAC) as eligible for all sanctioned events.

Carroll Shelby will be on hand to introduce this car and discuss its significance and his personal involvement with this CSX 2582.
