For 40 years Monsieur Serre kept six motor cars tucked away in his garage – four of which are very important. Collectors and  enthusiasts searched for their whereabouts, but to no avail. M. Serre died some years ago and it was just a few months ago that Artcurial Motorcars discovered the collection, all cars in their original state, untouched since 1974.

This impressive private collection includes three masterpieces from the Golden Age of French coachbuilding, two Hispano-Suizas, a 1935 K6 cabriolet by Letourneur et Marchand and a 1937 J12 with coupé Chauffeur coachwork by Franay. There is also a 1931 Bugatti 46, known as “ la Petite Royale” with bodywork by Vanvooren. Representing the best in post-war design, a 1968 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, delivered new in France will entice collectors.

Rare Legendary Motor Cars
For lovers of pre-war cars wanting to experience the Molsheim myth, a Bugatti that once belonged to lion-tamer and director of the Cirque Pinder, the 1934 Bugatti Type 57 Coupé Ventoux , which comes from a large Italian private collection and features a rare opening roof. Also of note, a racy 1922 Bentley 3-litre Sports Tourer and a 1937 Packard Victoria cabriolet from America’s golden age of motoring.

Blue Chip Models
Also on offer will be iconic models that never go out of fashion: a 1969 Lamborghini Miura S recently completely restored, a 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster with its hard-top and luggage, in a condition that will amaze the most exacting prospective purchaser, an array of Porsche 356 models: a rare Roadster 90, a sublime Speedster and an even rarer Carrera Speedster. The Citröen DS, so close to the hearts of the French, provides us with models by Chapron, two cabriolets and a coupé Le Dandy.

For the Sporting Enthusiast
Sporting enthusiasts will be seduced by the ultra-low mileage supercar Jaguar XJ220, debonair gentlemen by the one-off Jaguar XJR Shooting Break and those wanting to add weight to their authority by the four-door Mercedes 600 Pullman limousine. And, amongst the all time classics: a Mercedes 280SL Pagoda, an E-Type Jaguar, Porsches, an Aston Martin DB MkIII delivered new in France, in the same family since 1966 and completely original.

A Riva Speedboat, A Harley-Davidson…
