After their first two hugely successful sales last year, “Le Mans Classic’ in July and “Automobiles sur les Champs’ on 7 November, Artcurial Motorcars, established in 2010 and led by one of Europe’s most successful experts Matthieu Lamoure and assisted by specialist Pierre Novikoff, will hold the third sale of collectors’ cars at the Retromobile Salon on 4 February 2011. This major sale is set to attract the attention of collectors worldwide. Offering ‘la crème de la crème’ from private collections, with models dating from 1903 to 2001, the sale will be orchestrated by Maître Hervé Poulain himself, and promises a festival of rare and desirable motorcars, motorcycles, watches, automobilia and even a splendid ‘barnfind’ Riva Tritone motorboat to be sold at no reserve. This sale of motor cars from private collections and estates will bring a breath of fresh air to the market with entries never before seen at auction. Indeed, the 100 motorcars on offer, all coming from select European collections and estates will all be making their first appearance on the market. What will also appeal to collectors is that some forty cars will be offered at no reserve. Collectors take note: one hundred lots, six collections, very rare individual models… Collections of Aston Martins, Mercedes, Maserati, cars from the Heads of State Limousine Museum (Lincoln JFK, DS Giscard d’Estaing, CX Prestige..), highly-sought after models such as the 1902 De Dion Bouton, the 1931 Invicta Type S, the 1937 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante…Ferrari 275, BMW 328, Peugeot 402 DARL’MAT Roadster 1938…and that’s before we mention Citroën!
