With only two private owners from new and parked since 1981, the matching-numbers CSX 2080 is one of the most original Cobras in existence. The red exterior and black interior of CSX 2080 have been left untouched, but the car is road ready having recently undergone a complete mechanical restoration of its factory-installed powertrain.
“We’re going to kick start the hobby’s spring season with an excellent show in Fort Lauderdale, featuring one of the most original Cobras on the planet,” said Donnie Gould, President, Auctions America by RM. “The discovery of CSX 2080 represents an important collecting opportunity for automotive enthusiasts.”
The Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale auction has built a reputation for its comprehensive offerings, spanning Brass Era motor cars, American classics, European sports cars and late model exotics.
Additional early highlights include a 1932 Duesenberg Model J DC Phaeton Murphy (estimate: $350,000 – $450,000) and a 2005 Ford GT (estimate: $140,000 – $160,000).
