San Francisco, CA – 30 April 2010 – Bonhams is delighted to announce that David Swig has been welcomed to the US Motoring Department team, augmenting the already renowned expertise of one of the world’s oldest and most capable auction houses.

David Swig, a San Francisco native, is a lifelong automobile enthusiast and a regular participant in historic car activities including circuit racing, road tours and concours d’elegance events. He possesses a wealth of knowledge on specialty collector cars with particular emphasis on sports and sports racing cars of the 1950s through 1980s, and can often be found racing his 1957 Monsterati Special at historic events on the West Coast. Swig’s professional experience includes time spent at Toyota, several internships in the field of automotive journalism, as well as an ongoing project to promote and elevate the vintage Japanese collector car movement. Also heavily involved in the historic rally scene, David and his father, Martin, organize the internationally renowned California Mille historic sports car tour.

David will be representing Bonhams at the Sonoma Historic Motorsport Festival at Infineon Raceway near Napa, California, June 5th-6th, as well as at Bonhams’ highly anticipated annual sale at Quail Lodge in Carmel, California, August 12th-13th.
