London, UK (November 4, 2008) — With the global release of the new movie Quantum of Solace putting Ian Fleming’s legendary British secret agent James Bond firmly back in the public eye, Bonhams is delighted to announce that it has one of 007’s classic sports cars for sale.
The white 1976 Lotus Esprit from the 1977 film “The Spy Who Loved Me,” starring Roger Moore and Barbara Bach, is expected to fetch $160,000-$190,000 when it is sold in London next month.
The vehicle is one of two Lotus cars driven in the film by Roger Moore’s James Bond character. It turns into an amphibious car for the movie, driven both on land and underwater.
For one day only, on November 13, from 10 am to 12 pm, at the company’s New Bond Street location, Bonhams will the present the Lotus for press preview along with Bond girls in New Bond Street. Motoring specialists will be available for interview, too.
