Renowned, vintage automobiles from across the country will roll onto the air-conditioned floor of Reliant Stadium in Houston for the 8th Annual Classy Chassis™ Concours d’ Elegance to be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Houston/Galveston.

Classy Chassis™ will feature more than 100 unique and rare automotive icons, exotic hand-built sports cars, hot rods and full-out racing machines from some of the finest private collections and museums throughout the United States. Special featured cars for 2011 will be vintage Hot Rods of Distinction and significant Post-War Sports Cars. Among the many renowned automobiles on display at the 2011 event will be a 1931 Bugatti Type 40A, 1954 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, 1965 Shelby Cobra Roadster and a 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLK 722 McLaren Sterling Moss. Examples of past automobiles exhibited have included a 1929 DuPont Model G Speedster, a 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Corsa Spyder, a 1952 Ferrari 212/225 Touring Barchetta and a 1966 Chaparral 2E.

A popular attraction returning this year is the Ride & Drive. For a rider’s fee, guests will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride in a Ferrari, Lamborghini or one of many other modern super cars.

All ages will enjoy Classy Chassis™ Concours d’Elegance – from live music to children’s activities – the event provides entertainment for the entire family.

Jim Simpson from Whidbey Island, Washington will again serve as chief judge of the concours event, leading a team of experts in the selection of award winners. Cars will be judged according to French Concours standards (“judging light”) with first, second and third places awarded in each class along with a number of additional special awards, and concluding with the all important, coveted “Best in Show” award announced at the show’s conclusion on Sunday afternoon.

Renowned automotive artist Bill Neale is designing the 2011 commemorative artwork, which will reflect the special feature – vintage Hot Rods of Distinction and significant Post-War Sports Cars. The one-of-a-kind original artwork will be displayed and auctioned at a private reception held Saturday evening, June 11, at Reliant Stadium.

Ticket Information

Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 through 12, and children age five and under are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster or at the gate on the day of the event. Parking at Reliant Park is $10 per vehicle.
