Troy, MI. December 21, 2007 –-Continuing its status as one of the most prestigious auto expositions in the world, the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance is pleased to announce the following 2008 featured marques to its already impressive lineup of first-tier cars:
-Significant Ferraris -8 Litre Bentleys -100th Anniversary of General Motors -16-cylinder cars -Voisin Cars -Flying cars -Vintage motorcycles with Sidecars -The Class of 1933
-The 100th Anniversary of the Model T
“I’m very pleased to announce the addition of this year’s marques,” said Event Chairman Larry Smith. “These are amazing examples of the automobile as art and a proper way to honor and celebrate the beauty of these vehicles.”
The cars of the 1930s were chosen because it’s the 75th anniversary of 1933; a landmark year in automotive history. As part of its tradition of showcasing and preserving history, the 30th annual 2008 Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance will also feature historically significant Ferraris. “Seeing and hearing these cars in motion will be a real treat for Ferrari fans,” said Smith.
Based on the popularity of last year’s contemporary super car display, the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance won’t disappoint and will again showcase some of today’s finest examples. “These are the cars you see in magazines and rarely on the street; a dream for many people,” continued Smith.
The Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance is one of the world’s most prestigious auto events, held on the grounds of Meadow Brook Hall, a 1920’s Tudor-revival mansion built by the widow of John Dodge, a perfect setting for this very elegant event and the automotive heritage it represents. This year’s events begin on Thursday, July 31, with the second annual hangar party and conclude with the show on Sunday, August 3. Event details will be announced in early 2008.
