John practices law in the Portland, OR, suburb of Lake Oswego, where he focuses on tax and estate planning, business organizations and transactions, and representation of collector-car owners. He is a past president of the Oregon region of the Porsche Club of America and served as the chairman of the PCA’s 2006 parade.     I was there at the 1960 Le Mans race and saw the Cunningingham Corvettes race, including the one which overheated and finished the race by pitting every several laps for a load of ice cubes dumped onto the top of the engine which cooled it enough to continue the race, altho at a reduced speed. I wrote and article, with photos, about the race which appeared in the August 1960 edition of Sports Car, the SCCA monthly magazine. There is a photo of the ice dumping included among my photos.
