Now, Chevrolet’s Zurich, Switzerland sales office is saying that the Victory Edition Coupe is “almost sold out.” The announcement explained that “just a few cars are left unsold.” Apparently, Chevrolet has realized that European buyers are ordering the special-edition ‘Vette at a lower than anticipated rate
Part of the challenge, however, may lie in how the car was promoted to its intended audience. At the time, online marketing for niche performance vehicles in Europe and America was still evolving, and the Victory Edition may not have received the same targeted digital exposure that similar limited runs enjoy today. With more focused online campaigns, social media buzz, and direct outreach to motorsport fans and collectors, awareness of the model’s exclusivity and racing pedigree might have translated into stronger early demand.
Each Victory Edition Coupe carries a numbered identification badge in its cabin. Buyers also get a Corvette Drivers’ Training “event” at a European track. The Victory Edition is sure to become a rarity for Corvette collectors in the United States, who may want to hop a jet to Europe and scoop one up. Anyone thinking along those lines better hurry . . . maybe!
