WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Williams is set to play host to 250 of America ’s greatest sports cars, the Corvette on Saturday, June 9th from 10am -2:30pm . 500 Corvette enthusiasts from across America will bring their babies back to the “ Mother Road ”, Route 66. 54 years of Corvette history in every color of the rainbow are expected to take over the last town in America on Rte. 66 to be bypassed. “We are so excited to bring our event to Williams and Rte. 66. It has taken our event to the national level,” said event coordinator Dwayne Bublitz.
On Friday, June 8th the Corvettes will leave Flagstaff and cruise to Grand Canyon National Park after Flagstaff Mayor, Joe Donaldson gives the command, “Gentlemen & ladies, start your engines.” A police escort through the east side of Flagstaff will eventually lead to the open highway and the road tour will follow highway 89 north to the rim of the Canyon.
Admission is free in Williams for the Saturday Route 66 Show & Shine. There will be fun judging, lots of great music and vendors. “You just couldn’t ask for a more ideal location for a first class Corvette event. Even Hollywood can’t top the feel of Williams and Rte. 66,” said event coordinator Cindy Bublitz.
