Hello friends of the Oregon Festival of Cars!
Plans for the 2012 Oregon Festival of Cars are in full swing. We have reviewed the amphitheater grounds for field layout and it will be spectacular. Event founder John Draneas wrote an article for the Porsche Club magazine that outlines many of the coming changes.
Event registration is now open! Visit our website to register online using our new online registration service. You can now pay with your credit card (using MotorsportsReg.com), PayPal or download the form to fax or mail in. We think this will make registering for the event a lot more convenient for everyone. We know there will be a slight learning curve with the online registration, please call us if you run into problems. Don’t forget to email us a photo of your car so we can include it in our event program.
Those of you coming from other areas will want to visit our accommodations page. Several local hotels are offering discounts for festival participants.
While you’re on the website, check out the reduced prices on discontinued Sunriver regalia, but hurry before it’s all gone– you don’t want to miss out on a little piece of the past. Wendie Martin’s Enthusiast Media Group will be handling all regalia for 2012. As you know, Wendie’s group handles many sports and automotive events and we know she’ll do a great job bringing new and interesting items to the event.
And since Wendie will be attending, we’ve managed to corral her husband, Keith Martin, host of What’s My Car Worth on Velocity and publisher of Sports Car Market and American Car Collector magazines, as the show emcee. It’s always great to have Keith – he does a great job and is always very informative.
New for Friday night will be registration with a Bar-B-Q on the amphitheater grounds.
Saturday is the car show. The show is open to sports and enthusiast cars of any vintage, but this year’s center field display will feature British models.
The Saturday evening dinner will be held at Club Carrera where we will hand out some fun and interesting awards, including the People’s Choice Award.
Sunday kicks off with a nice continental breakfast and then a beautiful drive through Central Oregon followed by lunch.
We look forward to a great event this year. Until the event, keep up to date on all the new exciting happenings at www.oregonfestivalofcars.com. You can also “like” us on Facebook.
