Jeff Zurschmeide is a veteran of SCCA club racing, stock car racing, performance rally, and the Alcan 5000 Winter Rally. Z’s short list of must-do events now includes the Targa Newfoundland, La Carrera Panamericana, and the Baja 1000. He is the author of Subaru High Performance Builder’s Guide and Automotive Welding: A Practical Guide, both published by CarTech Books. Most recently, he took the helm as editor of The Star — the Mercedes-Benz Club of America’s magazine.
Somer Hooker has written over 100 articles for various publications since the 1980s. He is chief judge at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering. chief motorcycle judge at Salon Prive at Blenheim Palace, chief motorcycle judge at Cobble Beach Concours, field judge at the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival and the Hilton Head concours, and was a field judge at the Pebble Beach Concours. He’s an honorary member of the Vincent Owners club in England and a board member of the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA.
John Nikas is a motoring historian who has authored a dozen books on various automotive topics and currently contributes monthly columns for several magazines around the world. A recipient of numerous writing accolades including the Montagu of Beaulieu Trophy, McCluggage Award and Sedgwick Award, John’s recent titles include Rule Britannia: When British Sports Cars Saved a Nation, Paint it Black: Don Nichols and Shadow Racing, Faces of Change: Portraits of Automotive Evolution and Healey: The Men and The Machines.
