March 31, 2009 – Coys, the London-based motoring auction house has secured exclusive headline sponsorship of MGLive!, the MG Car Club’s premier motor racing weekend, to be held on July 10-12, 2009.

Formerly well-known for its Silverstone Festival, Coys expressed delight at returning to the venue for their first major auction of the summer. Included in the sponsorship will be two endurance races lasting 55 minutes each, one on the Saturday, the other on Sunday.

Coys Managing Director Douglas Jamieson said: “Sponsorship of the MGLive! race weekend has come at a good time for us, when we are looking at expanding our calendar of events and widening our audience. The races were a great tradition of our Silverstone Festival, so I am delighted to have them reinstated.”

The races will comprise grids of 44 1950s to 1965 sports and GT cars, all invited by Coys to participate. More than 100 cars are expected to be sold in the centrepiece auction. Entry will be via the catalogue, with two-person
weekend vouchers included to allow entry to MGLive!

John Day, chairman of the MG Car Club, said: “We are delighted to welcome Coys to MGLive! and bring another live event to our Silverstone meeting.”

MGLive! will feature action on the track for the full three days, with races running continuously over the weekend. The MGLive! Arena will feature, among its many attractions, the
amazing Russ Swift Precision Driving Team, including its two-wheeling, spinning, dancing and parking routines. This year, they will be demonstrating the versatility of the new MG TF LE500. Overhead, the crowds will be entertained by the amazing Blades 4-plane aerobatic team on the Saturday.

To mark the 85th anniversary of the marque, there will be a display of MGs through the ages – from the earliest to the latest – with the intention of covering every model ever made. Those wanting a more hands-on experience will have the opportunity to take part in the Sunday morning circuit tour, or take a trip around the track in an MG ZR.

Not only is MGLive! the largest MG event on the planet; it is also the biggest MG race meeting in the UK. For further information and booking details, please visit the dedicated event website at mglive.com
