Many parts of the country are starting to reopen after weeks to months under stay-at-home orders. The first bars and restaurants started taking diners again in my county out here in Oregon. I hope they did well, considering the situation.

Decisions in March and April gutted the spring auction calendar, with postponements and cancelations galore. But, given the enormous push from some sectors to reopen the economy, it appears that we’ll have some sales to actually attend in June.

In two and a half weeks, if you’re around Auburn, IN, Worldwide Auctioneers is holding their Americana Festival and Auction. In addition to airplanes, militaria and automobilia, there will be 100-plus cars selling at no reserve. Of course, there is online bidding available as well. In addition, if you have financed or leased an airplane, then you may know that a repossession could be possible if you don’t make your payments like you are supposed to or if you otherwise violate your lease contract.

The lot to first catch my eye was a 1983 Jeep Wagoneer Limited. This was the last year before the model was renamed Grand Wagoneer. Now, the beige palette isn’t the most appealing, but that interior (at least what they’re showing) appears in remarkable shape — not something you can say for most ‘80s vehicles. The driver’s side doors might have some issues along the bottom and the engine bay was left to its own devices for too long, but maybe that’s good enough reason to go there and inspect it for yourself.

If mid-June is too far away from getting your car-buying fix, RM Sotheby’s can be your dealer. Their Online Only: Driving into Summer sale is going on right now, with lots starting to close on Thursday, May 28.

Not that you need my direction, but there’s a custom ’66 Chevy II wagon that looks like a perfect cruiser available at no reserve. The description has a lot of the fun words: aluminum heads, HEI ignition, power front discs and dropped spindles. The gauges aren’t to my taste and if you have buckets you should have a console, but that’s the extent I will critique this car. It has a $25k–$30k estimate and is bid to just $10k as I write this.

Stay safe and keep washing your hands.
