A pinnacle of European sedan racing is ready to run and fairly sold

This car, SE062004, was built in the 1995 season of the DTM series for the factory driver Alessandro Nannini, as stated in an internal letter from Alfa Corse dated January 9, 1995, which may be found in the car’s archived documentation. Boasting Alfa Corse-Martini works livery, “004” was driven by Nannini in the DTM in 1995 carrying competitor number 7. The season was marked by a combination of evident pace and persistent misfortune. Nannini demonstrated his competitiveness with two podium finishes, both 3rd places, achieved at the high-speed circuits of Avus and the Norisring. He further underlined the car’s potential with a strong 4th at Diepholz Airfield Circuit, together with additional top-five results throughout the season.
Despite these highlights, the campaign was significantly affected by numerous retirements, which ultimately limited the conversion of performance into championship points. At the conclusion of the season, Nannini was classified 11th overall, an outcome that does not fully reflect the pace and potential shown on track. In retrospect, the 1995 season stands as one of contrasts: Whenever car number 7 reached the finish, it was often in contention at the front, yet a lack of reliability prevented a stronger championship result.

This unique Alfa Romeo 155 DTM entered the vendor’s important European private collection in March 2014 after its purchase from Dal Degan Loris, who had raced the car regularly until it was sold. This car is unique, because it meets the period specifications perfectly and is entirely complete, including all the original ECUs, and in a state where it can be raced, unlike other survivors that are rarely in their original condition or even driveable.

With its outstanding pedigree, this factory 155 V6 Ti is part of Alfa Romeo’s DTM history: Truly a touring-car legend worthy of inclusion in any private collection with a focus on motor sports.
