Harley Earl designed GM Luxury cars join Basketball Superstar Larry Bird’s 1963 ½ Ford Galaxie at the Mid-West’s largest classic car show and auction in Novi, Michigan

YPSILANTI, Michigan (August 29, 2006) – RM Auctions will offer nearly 300 impressive classics at this year’s Michigan International Fall Classic Car Auction at the Rock Financial Showplace on September 23 and 24, 2006. The collection will include a number of important collectible cars showcasing the past 75 years of automotive history.

One of the features of the sale will be a trio of 1953 General Motors Luxury Convertibles. These convertibles were designed by famed automotive stylist and engineer Harley Earl. Sporting 3 consecutively numbered license plates these hand built luxury cars will be sold as one lot. The hard to find convertibles include, a 1953 Buick Skylark Convertible- one of only 1,690 produced, a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible- one of only 532 produced, and a 1953 Oldsmobile Fiesta Convertible- one of only 458 ever produced.

Among the desirable collector cars are a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie owned by NBA superstar Larry Bird. When sold without reserve the lucky new owner will also have 2 Larry Bird autographed basketballs.

Other feature cars include:

• 2006 GDT Speedster – This one of a kind, world famous sports car was produced as an engineering and styling exercise by a team of automotive engineers and stylists. The Speedster was awarded the Car & Driver Editor’s Choice Award in 2006.

• 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Fuel Injected Convertible – Recipient of a National Corvette Restorers Society Top Flight award after a complete and correct frame–off restoration., this 360 hp, fuel injected roadster is one of the most desirable in Corvette history.

• 1937 Cord 812 SC Convertible Coupe – This black, rare model coupe with red leather is the most desirable of the series having two-seat bodywork with a disappearing top. This car was fully restored in America by one of the most respected Cord specialists.

This 2 day event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Rock Financial Showplace, in Novi, Michigan on September 23-24, 2006. The auction preview will take place September 22 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., September 23 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and September 24 from 9:00 a.m – 10:30 a.m..
