This 1967 Corvette L88 Roadster – one of only 20 produced and the earliest RPO-ordered L88 known to exist – was owned and raced by Tony DeLorenzo Jr., son of General Motors VP of public relations Anthony G. DeLorenzo. DeLorenzo drove the car to victory in its first race at Wilmont Hills, Wisc., and went on to finish second in the 1967 Daytona Beach SCCA runoffs. Mecum’s Monterey Auction takes place at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort & Spa on August 13-14, 2010.
