Arturo Keller’s 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Autobahn Courier took the Best of Show Concours d’Elegance award at the Amelia Island Concours on Sunday. The car is the only one of its kind, designed for high-speed Autobahn cruising. It has had just two owners from new — Keller is the second owner.

Best of Show Concours de Sport went to Brian and Kim Ross’ 1957 Ferrari 335S. It had been driven in period by racing legends, including Stirling Moss and Phill Hill.

With over 300 cars on the field, the choice was a challenging one. Concours founder and Chairman Bill Warner said, “The 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Autobahn-Kurier and 1957 Ferrari 335S both truly embody the sophistication of our awards. I was thrilled to watch the judges honor such esteemed automobiles and continue to recognize the best and most extraordinary vehicles in existence, right here in Northeast Florida.”
