The Wallace “Wally” Lewis Collection of classic American cars will go up for auction in Portland, Oregon, on June 11th, offering a wonderful walk down memory lane, not to mention the rare opportunity to acquire some of the most iconic cars in US history.
It took Wally Lewis a lifetime to assemble this collection of automobiles, with a focus on 1950s and ‘60s sports, touring and muscle cars, and they’re all being offered for sale – for the first time – all at no reserve.
Multiple versions of such legendary models like Corvette, Impala, Bel Air, Mustang and Thunderbird, in configurations like Fuelie, Convertible, Roadster, Super Sport and GT, will be available. All the great American makes – Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac – will be present comprising a total of nearly 100 automobiles.
“Everybody had a father, brother, uncle or some kind of relative or good friend that owned one of these cars,” says Bonhams motoring department specialist Eric Minoff. “Not only is there a powerful emotional connection to these vehicles, but they’ve also become part of our cultural heritage.”
The cars from the Lewis Collection represent the best of the best, either in originality, low-mileage, restoration, customization or factory options. Staying true to Wally’s reputation, better examples of these cars would be hard to find anywhere.
