The spectacular Perana Z-One designed by Zagato will make its American East Coast debut at the 2010 Saratoga Wine & Food and Fall Ferrari Festival in Saratoga Springs, New York September 10-12.

The Z-One is the first collaboration between an Italian coachbuilder and a South African manufacturer, the Perana Performance Group. The Z-One was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show, followed by acclaim at the Villa d’Este Concours and a North American debut in August at Concorso Italiano in Monterey, California.

Advanced virtual reality tools were employed to eliminate the traditional styling model enabling the prototype to be completed in less than four months, along with lightweight construction methods that return to Zagato’s heritage and purist racing traditions. The Z-One is powered by a 6.2-liter Corvette engine with 440hp with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Andrea Zagato, head of the iconic design firm founded by his grandfather Ugo Zagato, will host a discussion on the Heritage of Italian Design at Saratoga on Saturday September 11. Joining Dr. Zagato are renowned designer and automaker Piero Rivolta and Luigi Chinetti Jr, who commissioned various design studies on Ferrari chassis for N.A.R.T.
