Keith Martin, publisher of Sports Car Market and American Car Collector magazines, and famous among collector-car aficionados for his longtime dedication to the hobby, has agreed to serve as host and emcee for the inaugural Arizona Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, January12, 2014.

A columnist, author, television personality and all-around collector-car enthusiast, Martin will bring his characteristic charm and expertise to the Arizona Concours, to be held at the world-renowned Arizona Biltmore Resort and Hotel at the start of Arizona’s famed collector-car auction week.

“Auctions and concours go together because they’re all about great cars,” Martin said.  “Anywhere you go in the world, there tend to be great concours along with the very best auctions. It makes sense to have this concours here.”

The Arizona Concours has also announced that John Carlson, one of the nation’s premier concours judges, will serve as Chief Judge for the inaugural Arizona Concours. Highly regarded for his decades of concours experience, Carlson is a Master Judge for the Classic Car Club of America, and a Chief Class Judge for the Pebble Beach Concours and the Kirkland Concours, as well as Chief Judge for the Hilton Head, Cobble Beach, Crescent Beach and Louisville concours events.

Martin said that the presence of Carlson as Chief Judge for the Arizona Concours was a determining factor in his involvement with the event.

“When I saw that John Carlson had accepted being head judge, I was really impressed,” Martin said. “He is a very thoughtful man and he really knows his stuff, and I thought that was an indication of what kind of talent is being brought to this show.”

The inaugural Arizona Concours d’Elegance at the Arizona Biltmore begins collector car auction week with a premium event of style and luxury. Modeled after such great concours as Pebble Beach in California and Villa d’Este in Italy, the Arizona Concours will present an expected 75 exceptional automobiles or more to compete in classes that range from vintage and classic to sports, racing and exotics. 

The beautiful automobiles will be displayed in an intimate setting within the Art Deco elegance of the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Arizona Biltmore, which serves as host for the concours.
