B. Mitchell Carlson has been an SCM contributor since 1998.

Our resident truck guy, B. Mitchell has been writing about the vintage-truck market for 30 years, including Vintage Truck Magazine, Hagerty and Old Cars Weekly, plus a regular truck column in Red Power magazine.

He’s been the editor of the North Dakota Military Vehicle Collectors Association’s newsletter, for which he was awarded the MVPA’s Communications Award in 2023. He was a contributor to Kelley Blue Book’s collector car price guide, and was a major contributor to the Lincoln & Continental Owners Club authenticity manual for the 1977-79 Continental Mark V.

He’s been featured on the Driven Radio Show with Brett Hatfield, and reviewed the remarkable military vehicle collection of Ken Yuly in this video for Steffes Auctioneers.

The first vehicle he ever drove was his father’s 1968 Ford F-100 pickup.
