Real Cars, Real Prices: Collector Car Auction Accompanies Fall Carlisle
Don’t Miss The Auction Action – September 29-30!

CARLISLE, Pa. – Most car enthusiasts are aware that Carlisle Events has been producing the most exciting automotive shows in America for 33 years. This year, the presenter of collector car, truck, and motorcycle events has launched an exciting new venture: high-end collector car auctions featuring antique, collector and special interest vehicles, held in conjunction with its Spring and Fall automotive swap meets. The Fall Auction will take place on September 29-30 at the Carlisle Expo Center, just one block from the Fairgrounds.
The inaugural Carlisle Collector Car Auction, was held in April during the annual Spring Carlisle Swap Meet and Car Corral, and was a resounding success. More than 250 automobiles representing all eras and genres were brought to market at the initial auction. The auction generated sales that amounted to nearly $3 million as a 46-percent sell-through was achieved. The consignors who brought their cars to the Carlisle auction came from around the country. Buyers traveled from as far away as the West Coast and Florida, to join in the gathering.
The Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction will build on the Spring event’s excitement and will be held September 29 and 30.The assemblage brought a concept of real cars at real prices. Crowds estimated in the thousands attended the inaugural event, produced by a team of auctioneers and auction-related specialists.
With less than two months until the Fall auction, almost half of the consignment slots are filled. “I’m really excited about our second auction,” commented John Detrick, CEO of Carlisle Events, “The Spring Auction was a very successful first-time event. We hope to take what we learned at the inaugural event and make the Fall Collector Car Auction even better.”
